FRODO SEVEN : Playa Fun

Way back a long, long time ago in the spring, my friend Misty and I planned out the 2009-2010 homeschooling year. We picked dates for Craft Days, Book and Science Club meetings, Moms' Nights Out and field trips. We chose October 10th as our beach day. As the day drew nearer, those in the know started predicting cold weather. We could have called off the outing but decided to take our chances. And we had a wonderful day. The beach was beautiful and nearly deserted and all of the kids had fun in the sand. Mia and Grace even donned bathing suits. There was sand castle building, philosophizing, football throwing, beach walking and a competitive game of kickball--dads against the kids. We also witnessed a tiny wedding that happened about 100 yards from where we were.

We left the beach late in the day and went to a park for a small cookout before heading home. Everyone at Casa Doyle slept very well after our adventures....en la playa.

One thing I love about getting our girls together is the mixing and matching that goes on.

They all get along so well.

The first picture looks like a final Survivor challenge. Who managed to stay up there the longest?

Looks like fun. Wish we had a beach this close. But, no, I'm not moving to Texas : )

Hey, if you moved to Texas, you'd not only have a beach close by, you'd have your very own personal cruise director (and over night babysitter). Think about it.
