All-of-a-Kind-Family

I started Madeleine on audio books when she was four years old and we were making the drive back and forth to North Carolina to see Chris.  Her first book was Mary Poppins.  We discovered the All-of-a-Kind-Family series when she was 5 or 6 and quickly became fans.  In fact, Ella's name came from these books.  Santa brought us an updated version of the first book and we listened to it today on our way to Austin.  I'm not sure Sophie could follow it but Grace and Mia were captivated by it and of course, Madeleine enjoyed rediscovering an old favorite.  Who would have guessed that she'd be part of her own all-of-a-kind family! 

Bella Ella is one year old!

Is it possible it's been a year?  I can't imagine life without Ella.  She is a delightful baby: often serious, studying us curiously, with a smile that's worth waiting for.   To see more of her first year portraits, check out my album on facebook.

SOPHIE'S PJS

Sophie will only wear her warm, footie (non-princessy) pjs in conjunction with this flimsy nightgown.  It cracks us up but isn't she cute?

Why the name?

We chose Frodo Seven because we have found that we have a few things in common with Mr. Tolkein's hobbits.  We like the simple things in life, our girls almost always eat second breakfasts, we are very loyal to our family and friends, adventures seem to find us wherever we go and, most important, like Frodo, we believe we each have an important mission in life given to us by God.
