Reverse, Reverse. Almost three weeks ago, we backed out of our driveway and waved goodbye to home for at least four weeks. It's now looking like it will be more like six. This summer's journey was fraught with mishap. Everything from a transmission scare to torrential rains and thunder storms. There was sickness along with the requisite vomit. Yes, we saw it all. Incredibly, we remained upbeat and focused and, with each misadventure, shrugged instead of complaining. Which is to say, we bonded and pulled up, one happy family to Camp Kreitzer, three days and 1251 miles after we started. Here, the trip in pictures:

Yeah, it's hot in here
Fun in the park while Daddy gets the transmission looked at

Fortunately, despite all the smoke and drama, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the van. Back on the road, we drove into very dark skies.
What's that?
Not sure what's going on here. We don't have this kind of thing in Houston.
dark and scary
Wish we could send this home

They say that home is where your story begins. In my life, it's more like the beginning point on a circle that I keep returning to. I didn't grow up here but this place has my heart in a way that truly surprises me.
Here's wishing you peaceful times in a place that you come home to.
That was a lot of pictures. Very thankful I will not have to put that into a book. =)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful home ! More details about that house? (and exactly where you've been this summer?) Welcome home.
