There must be something in the air--perhaps a bit of the excess energy being generated by the upcoming release of the sixth Harry Potter movie. Whatever the cause, strange things have been happening to Frodo Seven and friends lately.
It started with Madeleine. She and I were doing the p90X arms and shoulders workout one day when she decided to try out Chris' adjustable weights. She set them at 10 pounds and jerked them up hard. She immediately dropped them down right on top of herself. As it turns out, she'd set them to 100 pounds instead of 10. I looked over at my poor baby and she was--FLAT! No worries though. She immediately saw the advantage of the situation and requested that we send her to Disney World with our friends Michael, Michelle and Alex Rouselle. Chris encouraged her to pack light but as it turned out, her clothes had all magically shrunk to fit her new shape and she was able to pack everything her heart desired.
At about the same time that Madeleine had her accident, our friends the Ceys called to ask us if we could please take their two girls with us to Virginia. They wanted to keep the details hush hush but the long and the short of it was--they were FLAT too. Of course we agreed to take Anna and Clare up north with us. The only problem was seating in the car. In order to free up space for both little Tex-adians,
we decided that Mia should ride on the roof.
Mia was happy to make that sacrifice for her friends. Unfortunately, she got a little too enthusiastic
and, as she was surfing on top of the van, a big wind knocked her over. You guessed it--
she was FLAT!
We were so embarrassed by that turn of events, we shipped Mia right off to Canada to be with the Ceys and continued on to Woodstock.
It was a sad and quiet house without Madeleine and Mia but we tried to do what we normally would which includes lots of fun on the trampoline.
Would you believe the first time Sophie and Grace went out together to jump Grace tripped and Sophie jumped right on top of her! Sophie looks like a wisp but apparently is heavy enough to make her mark because Grace was FLAT. I carried my Gracie upstairs to show Chris.
Poor Chris.
He was beside himself.
We talked it over and we will be sending Grace to Kansas for awhile to help Kevin, Abby and Ceci move into their new house. A flat person can come in very handy and doesn't eat much at all.
We will miss our three little travelers and are bracing ourselves for the next unfortunate event. If it happens to me, I'll be on the next mail truck to Margaritaville.
Yippeee!!! Your loss is our gain. Flat Grace will be incredibly handy as we move to our new house!
ReplyDeleteCute!
ReplyDeleteHow sad! You must miss your girls in their glorious 3rd dimension! I have a 3 dimensional Ella that you could borrow for an afternoon :)
ReplyDeleteHi Alice. It looks like you all are having quite the "flat" adventure. I love this post. Nicholas did his Flat Stanely project in April and we had such fun with it as well. I hope you all are enjoying your visit. I know it is so good for you to be with your family. We have our TOOL meeting tonight and will pray for you all and for a safe return in a few weeks. We'll miss you but look forward to seeing you when you return to Kingwood. Jennifer
